Do you really expect a life where there are no obstacles and everything will always be smooth sailing? Not on my planet.

I know there will obstacles .... that's part of the game. However if you resolve that external obstacles are no match for your inner strength, you'll ride a bump instead of smashing into a wall.

Have the confidence and creativity to find solutions and take action no matter what challenges may seek to block your path. That's why you develop handy tools to use - affirmations, positive self-talk, and meditation.

Here's the trick - you have to use all your tools all through the game, not just after you've hit the obstacle. They are not emergency repair tools ... they are maintenance tools used to strengthen you by helping you build effective habits and attitudes. Good habits make good choices easy and automatic. Ground yourself with confidence and an optimistic attitude and you'll get through just about anything.

Use positive self-talk throughout your day to boost your confidence. Whenever you do something well, congratulate yourself. Not from ego - but from self appreciation and self worth. Use meditation to build inner strength and instill an unstoppable motivation to attain the life you desire.

Mentally experience living your dreams. Think that's a bit "woo woo"? Well if it's good enough for major sports stars to conscientiously and repeteadly do it, it's good enough for you. Their results and bank balances show that it works.

So choose to meet obstacles as bumps on the road ... go head-on with confidence, creativity, and a can-do attitude. Then you will always keep moving forward. It's that or be splattered all over the wall.

Self-Reflection Questions:
1. Do you waste time bemoaning challenges, instead of taking action to overcome them?

2. How can you encourage yourself to become action-oriented?

3. Is your inner dialogue with yourself positive and uplifting, or negative and berating?

Learn from others' experience ....
Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind.
~ Leonardo da Vinci

Nothing stops the man who desires to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop his achievement muscle. It's a strengthening of his powers of accomplishment.
~ Eric Butterworth
