No surprises that this newsletter is about achieving your New Year's Resolutions. New Year's resolutions need more than willpower (listen to the audio track below) ... resolutions need your direct involvement by taking some simple steps and then letting go.

Remember if you want to plan a trip on a map, you need to know where you are starting from and where you are going to end up ... otherwise you wander the streets hoping you'll recognise your destination when you see it!!

I've already started planning out my next few months. I start with the end goal and then determine where I am at in relation to that goal. Then I draw a line between them and map out each step that leads to the next step. ... and then another and another ... until I am at the goal.

If you want to create a map of the steps towards your goal, click here for free software to help you map the steps on your goal journey.

Knowing where you are headed helps you travel there with confidence. Of course there'll be detours on the journey ... that doesn't change the destination. If you are driving somewhere and hit a detour, do you say "That's it, I'm giving up and going home" ? Detours are the fun of the journey ... challenges to solve.

When you have a plan, you can enjoy peace of mind because you know that you are prepared to tackle the journey. You have thought about things in advance.

Your plans may not always work out, but they set you on a clear path toward bigger and better ideas. Planning ahead helps you cultivate great ideas that may not come to you if you didn't think through the journey. In fact those ideas may create your own detour to a better path or a better destination.

Let go of the need for it to be a certain way. Your plan is not binding; rather it is a helpful guide that helps to inspire you. Let go and let the Universe act from the power of your intent. It will always take you where you intend in your heart.

In the end, it is the journey that is important .... plans are simply ideas of the direction you plan to travel.

Confusius said, "A journey of a thousand miles, begins with one step". So start steppin' and forget trying to force New Year's resolutions to happen with a bang.

Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What plans do you have for your life?

2. How can you prepare and plan for your goals?

3. Once you have mapped your plan and intent, are you prepared to let go and let the Universe use its will power or do you think yours is stronger?

Learn from others' experience ....
If you think you can do it, or you think you can't do it, you are right.”
~ Henry Ford

The foundations of a person are not in matter but in spirit..
