There
are times when we must rely on others. Why not accept
this help with an open heart and allow yourself to grow?
If
you accept help from others gladly, both your relationships
and your inner-self will strengthen. Accepting help
is not always easy because sometimes we are reluctant
to recognise we need it or we kick back at it in anger.
Maybe
you need a mentor or someone to point out a new path.
My first mentors, Paul & Mary Blackburn, always
remain with me as the people who saw what I might become
- even though it took me many years to come to the same
realisation. Since then, there have been many mentors,
each adding layers (or removing layers - whichever way
you look at it).
They
did not do it to be thanked and I often did not accept
with gratitude. But in the end, we both won by creating
a better world. I have gratitude beyond measure to them
all and they'll probably never know of it.
Now
I willingly accept help either when I need it or when
it is offered. And I give help with the same ease.
So,
in this spirit, gladly accept help when you need it
from others. Adopt a mentor if you need to. Helping
and being helped builds a community that nourishes our
souls.
Today,
you can choose to let go of the fear or pride that prevents
you from openly accepting help - and really live from
love. You'll be the winner.
Self-Reflection
Questions:
1.
Have you opened your heart to accepting help from others?
2.
Have you allowed fear or pride to hinder your acceptance
of help?
3.
How has helping others - and allowing them to help you
- strengthened your relationships?
