I know that the people who read this newsletter and who come to our classes have read piles of self help books. As a result you have an arsenal of tools for life. But are you using them?

You know that the better you take care of your self, the better you are prepared for life's challenges. When you take care of you, your friends, co-workers, and loved ones all benefit. Your self-care tools enable you to be the very best you can be!

So what are the two essentials in your kit bag? Let me make a couple of suggestions - you'll have more, I'm sure.

Discipline is one of your most important self-care tools. You can super-charge your discipline with a strong commitment to your life's priorities.

Another way of talking about discipline is this - "I've given my word". If you've promised yourself to achieve something, you have given your word to yourself. I'm assuming you wouldn't break your word to a friend (if you would, boy, you do have work to do). So look at discipline as simply keeping your word, a promise.

Another important self-care tool is taking the time to get in touch with your spiritual nature. Meditation prepares you for meeting the challenges of the day and helps you find inner peace. It helps you focus on your goals and be where you want to be.

Work at making the best use of your self-care tools. Know that discipline, prayer, meditation, and self-reflection enable you to meet challenges with confidence so you can enjoy your life journey.

Self-Reflection Questions:
1. How can you become more disciplined so you can make wiser choices?

2. When can you make time in your schedule for meditation?

3. What self-care tools are you using to help you be your very best?
