Moving On

No one likes to move on. We all like to hold on to the relationships and things we've come to know. Sometimes we hold on so tight, we forget to look to see whether what we are holding on to is what we really want in our lives.

That happens a lot in relationships. We hang on to partnerships or friendships because of what they once were, not what they've become. It is the "familiar" that holds us loocked into that relationship ... the fear that you may not get another chance, that maybe you won't find another one, that you'll be left high and dry. If you are the one who's been left, you harbour anger for someone else else ... yet, don't we say we attract what we need to grow? So this coming year, do some housekeeping on yourself and have a garage sale clean out on all those feelings of yesterday and what might have been.

Next Monday 24th will be our last meeting for this year. Will we be back next year? I don't know. Maybe it's moving on time. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a garage sale to go to.

New Thought Redux

Prentice Mulford (1908)
Thoughts are Things

If you want to go backward in every sense, mental and physical, keep on cultivating the mood of living regretfully in your past life.

The real self, the spirit, cares relatively little for its past. it courts change. It expects to be a different individual in thought a year hence from what it is today. It is willing to forget who or what it is today, for it knows that this intense desire to remember itself for what it has been retards its advance toward greater power and greater pleasure. What care you for what you were years ago? Yet then you were something, and something far less than what you are today.

You can commence the unloading process now, by resolving to fling off the remembrance of everything in the past that has annoyed you, everything you regret, everything you have mourned over.
