I love questions. They gain you the information to help you understand what you are pursuing. But in all honesty when it comes to spirituality or religion, there are some things we'll never understand. No matter how many questions we ask on that subject, we'll get hundreds of different answers, all claiming to be right. And do you know what ... they are. When it comes to religion and spirituality, listen to people who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. And if what you then choose to believe works for you, it is the correct answer. All our questions are really about "give me a reason to believe something." The problem is that most of us are seeking intellectual, didactic, imperic proof before we commit. Do you seek the same proof when you get into an elevator or you switch on electricity. No .... you don't have any proof that it will work ... you just know it will work because you've experience it and seen it working for you. |

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true. Buddha |

From
the Archives Khalil
Gibran (1923) Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights. But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge. You would know in words that which you have always know in thought. You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams. And it is well you should. The hidden well-spring of your soul must needs rise and run murmuring to the sea; And the treasure of your infinite depths would be revealed to your eyes. But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure; And seek not the depths of your knowledge with staff or sounding line. For self is a sea boundless and measureless. Say not, "I have found the truth," but rather, "I have found a truth." Say not, "I have found the path of the soul." Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path." For the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals. |

_________________________ A person will worship something, have no doubt about
that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses
of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations
and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore,
it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping
we are becoming. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson | |
